Lane Neal Selected for OBA Outstanding Young Lawyer Award
Each year the Oklahoma Bar Association recognizes attorneys for their dedication to enhancing the legal profession and contributing to their communities.
We are pleased to announce that at the 2018 OBA Annual Meeting conducted November 7-9, Lane Neal was honored with this year’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. This award is designated for an outstanding member of the OBA Young Lawyers Division for their service to the profession.
Lane said he was both excited and surprised to receive the award. He considers it an honor, and he looks forward to continuing the great work he does here at Durbin, Larimore & Bialick, P.C. He encourages other young attorneys get involved with the OBA Young Lawyers Division because it is a great resource for networking and developing skills to better serve clients.
Lane has served on the OBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Board of Directors in various capacities since 2010. His previous roles include chairperson, chairperson-elect, treasurer and District 3 representative. He currently serves as immediate past chair of the YLD.
YLD launched more than 50 years ago to create a space where young lawyers can work on bar-related and public-service projects. The board has monthly meetings typically held on Saturday mornings at various locations and remotely via BlueJeans. All members of the Oklahoma Bar Association in good standing who were first admitted to the practice of law in the past ten years are automatically YLD members.
Lane is a member of the Oklahoma County and Oklahoma Bar Associations along with the Luther Bohanon American Inn of Court. He is also a fellow at the Oklahoma Bar Foundation and a 2010 graduate of the OBA Leadership Academy.
In 2019, Lane will continue his service as the Vice President of the OBA.
